Gripwire Rappel is a Soldier Combat Shell skill in Deadlink.
Overview[]
The gripwire rappel is a basic grappling hook that can be used to move around quickly, both to move away from or even bring one self closer to a target.
It can be used on Constructor Balls or enemies, with the latter being stunned and marked by the gripwire. If used on a C-Ball, it will break it.

GripWire, an innovation in tactical entry. Shot out of cybernetic arm add-ons, nanites form a lightweight kernmantle cable, durable and resilient. It provides specops with an instantaneous rappelling solution, easily dissolved for deniability.
PMCs quickly began experimenting, using it for makeshift grappling hooks and even offensive solutions, binding opponents and quickly closing the gap.
Once nanites collide with an obstructing surface, they produce atomic strands, boring into materials, forming structures that ensure grip and cause a painful shock.
Nanites generate IFF markers tagging the hooked enemy.
